Who are the old crispy minstrels?

Some Things You Should Know About Us

How We Got Together

It all started as an acoustic jam on Tuesday nights (6pm to 9pm) that Jerry DiAngelo hosted and played in at St. Georges Cafe and Country Store in St. Georges, Delaware. Local musicians came and sat in with Jerry and pretty much rotated through an amazing kalidescope of musical genres and performers. Over time it seemed that Bobby Haugh (mandolin, guitar and vocals) and Howard “Big Izzy” Isenberg (vocals, guitar and sometimes banjo) continued to be there every Tuesday night. This trio became “The Old Crispy Minstrels” - and as we like to remind our audiences - we are calling ourselves that for “obvious reasons!” This Tuesday night show has gone on for almost three years now. We are still joined on occasion by guest musicians. Playing at this venue has been a thrill and a treat for us. It’s really our home base and we’ll never tire of it.
